Level up your  HR game

ABOUT HR ACADEMY

HR ACADEMY IS A ONE-DAY EVENT, GATHERING TOGETHER LEADERS FROM BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT, INDUSTRY ASSOCIATIONS, TOP TIER PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FIRMS, AND CUTTING-EDGE TECH COMPANIES TO HELP YOU LEVEL UP YOUR HR GAME AND IMPROVE YOUR ORGANISATION’S EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE.

THE CONFERENCE WILL TAKE PLACE FROM FRESH AND CONTEMPORARY VENUE, THE LOFT AT JONES BAY WHARF IN SYDNEY ON TUESDAY 3 SEPTEMBER 2019 FROM 8:30AM – 5:00PM.

THE PROGRAM FOR THE DAY FEATURES EIGHT UNIQUE SESSIONS INCLUDING:

·        DISRUPTING HR: WHEN THE RESOURCES AREN’T HUMAN

If robots are taking over, is it truly “human” resources? How can you harness the changing tech landscape to modernise your workplace and maximise your sales? Join Sarah Smith from Winning Group and Nick Shelton from Amart Furniture as they discuss best practice implementation and change management strategies for the future of HR.

·        TALES FROM THE TRENCHES: IDENTIFYING AND RESOLVING COMPLIANCE FAILURES

It’s every HR professional’s worst nightmare – discovering a failure in your processes which has resulted in your employees being underpaid. Hear from those who’ve been through it and learn how to prevent issues before they can happen, identify compliance errors if they do arise, what happens next, and how to lead your troops in the face of adversity.

·        GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES ON WORKPLACE CULTURE

Organisational culture is critical to business success. We’ve rounded up speakers from the biggest and best – IKEA, Swarovski, and L’Occitane – to talk you through the value of global leadership, talent retention, and more.

·        THE (UN)KINDNESS OF STRANGERS: THE RISK AND RAMIFICATIONS OF CUSTOMER VIOLENCE

Is the customer always right? Incidences of customer misbehaviour are increasing, and having a direct impact on staff across Australia. Let panel members Bob Dunger (McDonald’s Australia), Andrew Ellery (iCare), and Rebecca Patena (SDA) guide you through understanding customer misbehaviour, the effect violence has on workers, and strategies you can implement in your workplace to limit and prevent customer violence.

·        BEYOND LIP SERVICE: DIVERSITY BY DESIGN IN 2019 AND BEYOND

"Diversity is being invited to the party, but inclusion is being asked to dance."
YouFoodz and Telstra are notable for their inclusive organisational values, and will be sharing their insights on the Beyond Lip Service panel at 2019 HR Academy. Our speakers Christina King, Head of People and Culture at YouFoodz, and Tyrone Floro, HR Graduate and Diversity Advocate at Telstra, will share the key cross cultural considerations in building an inclusive work environment, and reducing unconscious culture bias during recruitment.

·        GENIUSES, JERKS AND GERRYMANDER: TIPS AND TECHNIQUES FOR PERFORMANCE AND CONDUCT MANAGEMENT

Do you know where the line is between performance and conduct issues? National Retail Association Associate and Senior Workplace Relations Advisor, Alex Millman, is here to help you navigate the murky waters of performance management, starting with setting, maintaining, and enforcing behavioural standards.

·        Q&A WITH DEPUTY-PRESIDENT MANSINI OF THE FAIR WORK COMMISSION

HR Academy is proud to present the opportunity to hear about the Fair Work Commission straight from a Deputy President. From preparing to matters before the Commission, to the career pathways which are available for non-lawyer HR professionals, this session is a must-do.
